The Red Hands’ run to the McKenna Cup final will have bolstered the opinion of those who believe that Tyrone are on the brink of a fantastically successful season.
League titles, Ulster championships and big days in Croke Park appear like they could be very real possibilities.
With that in mind, Fantasy fans will be stocking their team with Tyrone players, and there are a good few worth considering.
In actual fact, Tyrone have players who will have good fantasy campaigns whether the county do well or not.
Peter Harte (half back): Harte really should be an early name on your team sheet. He’s an attacking defender, who plays regularly, takes penalties, doesn’t get sent off and gets clean sheets.
Sean Cavanagh (midfield): Another regular fantasy points king. Cavanagh will get forward and kick points. This makes him incredibly valuable as a midfield option.
Ronan McNamee (full back): McNamee could solve a few headaches for the managers trying to plug a gap in the full back line. It’s difficult selecting players in that line, as you have to consider the entire defence’s ablity to keep clean sheets. McNamee can offset any goals conceded as he can kick points. Only concern is if he gets sent off.
Darren McCurry (Full forward): It will be a big surprise if any of the Tyrone forwards score more points thant McCurry. He scored 74 fantasy points in the championship. Will do that or better in division two.
