What’s great about Donegal is that they have such a good mix of experienced footballers and young stars.
They also have lots of players on their team who like to carry the ball forward and kick points. They want threats from all over the field. That makes them a good option for Fantasy managers, even though they are playing in division one.
Their number one fantasy target is Michael Murphy, but as everyone knows about the Glenswilly machine, we have selected four players that you might not go for.
Martin McElhinney (Midfield): McElhinney was something of a surprise package in last year’s Championship. His point-scoring from midfield earned him a big name in the Fantasy competition.
Paddy McBrearty (Full forward): McBrearty is going to do a lot of damage in the National League. He scored 60 points in last year’s championship and was on the full forward line of the NFL Fantasy Allstar team.
Frank McGlynn (half back): McGlynn was the third highest fantasy-points scoring Donegal player in the Championship last year, this was due to his forays forward, coupled with a ruthless defence. Donegal’s defence will all provide plenty of points.
Odhran MacNiallais (Half forward): Fast becoming one of the stars of Donegal football. MacNiallais told Gaelic Life he still isn’t fit, yet he managed to rack up big scores.
