Storm Jorge victims Fermanagh and Armagh will now play their rescheduled Allianz Football League Division 2 encounter this Saturday in Enniskillen (throw-in, 7pm)
The weekend’s original fixture fell by the wayside due to the amount of surface water on Brewster Park. But a new date has now been fixed by the Central Competitions Control Committee.
Elsewhere, in Gaelic football’s second tier, promotion chasing Cavan slipped up at home to Clare going down 0-15 to 1-14.
Prior to the weekend, the Breffni men occupied top spot in Division 2 while their visitors were rooted to the bottom. However, the Munster men upset the odds in brilliant fashion to give their hopes of avoiding the drop a real injection.
Mickey Graham‘s side trailed by 1-8 to 0-5 at the break but did manage to regain a foothold in the contest with a blitz of scores at the start of the second period.
But some poor decision making, coupled with a cluster of misfired shots, proved their undoing in the end.
Graham said: “We got to within a point with five points in a row which put us in a good position but then we shot three bad wides.”
