Dunloy boss Gregory O’Kane is well-aware that Slaughtneil will present a stiff challenge

GREGORY O’Kane says his Dunloy players must be pumped for this Sunday’s Ulster semi-final against Slaughtneil.

Dunloy won their first Antrim senior championship since 2009 two weeks ago, and they deserve their time to celebrate.

However, from the sounds of it, the Cuchullains want more trophies this year.

Manager O’Kane said: “It is massive for any team. Any time you get a chance to get to a final you want to win them. It is a great place to be. We know that if we are not up for it then we will be gone. Slaughtneil are a huge challenge.”

O’Kane has a clean bill of health, and should play a similar team to the one that beat Cushendall 2-16 to 2-9.

O’Kane says his team have not changed their approach. Considering that they were underdogs against Cushendall a similar performance gives them a chance against the defending Ulster Champions.

“Cushendall were favourites. But we won on the day. On the day it is about performing. We got the performance and the result took care of itself. Cushendall are still ahead of Dunloy, but on the day we got the result.

“Sport is about the bounce of a ball. We had the chance after half time. Momentum is everything in sport and we got the momentum.”
