Down’s hopes of a jump to Division 2 remain intact after their 0-17 to 0-9 win away to Offaly on Sunday.
Barry O’Hagan was the man doing the damage for the Mourne side as he hit six points for the visitors.
Elsewhere, a late Derry revival wasn’t enough in Cork as Rory Gallagher’s team were beaten 3-13 to 3-11.
The Rebels had opened up a 10-point advantage at one stage but three-pointers from Emmett Bradley and Patrick Kearney dragged the Oak Leafers back into contention. Still, Cork clung on and remain top of the pile in Division 3 as Derry stay fourth.
Elsewhere in Division 4 Antrim are back in the promotion hunt after their 2-27 to 1-12 mauling of Limerick in Portglenone.
