FORMER Down star Mark Poland has been appointed as the new Warrenpoint senior football manager.
Poland, who was involved under outgoing manager Shane Mulholland, take over ahead of the 2023 season.
His management team will comprise of Gary Boyle, Conor Gilmore, Ryan McAleenan, Daniel Bird and Sean O’Hare.
Warrenpoint haven’t won the Down senior championship since their third title in 1953.
Poland will be hoping to break Kilcoo’s grasp on the Frank O’Hare Cup.
Warrenpoint took the All-Ireland champions to the wire in this year’s county final after also coming with a point in the 2019 decider.
