Antrim Senior Hurling Final 2018
Cushendall 2-12
Loughgiel 0-15
As expected, a large crowd flocked to Ballycastle to witness Cushendall and Loughgiel do battle in the Antrim hurling decider.
Paddy Burke and Conor Carson netted for Cushendall as they marched towards a three point win to not only claim the Saffron title but set up an Ulster Final meeting with Down champions Ballycran, who knocked out reigning champions Slaughtneil.
Loughgiel led by two before Burke’s goal gave his side the lead, another score from Donal McNaughton ensured that Cushendall led by two at the break on a scoreline of 1-8 to 0-9.
Carson’s major with ten minutes left on the clock eventually gave the champions elect the daylight they were searching for to claim another famous victory.
Ballycran and Cushendall will now meet in the Ulster decider on Sunday November 11th, 25 years after their last provincial final meeting which the Down champions emerged victorious from.
