DONEGAL’S search for a new inter-county management team has come to an end with the appointment of Paddy Carr and Aidan O’Rourke.
Their names were ratified at a meeting of the County Committee tonight, bringing to an end a lengthy wait to find a successor to Declan Bonner, who stepped down in the wake of Donegal’s qualifier defeat to Armagh in the summer.
Paddy Carr will officially manage the team with former Armagh footballer Aidan O’Rourke tasked with the position of head coach.
Donegal native Carr led Dublin club Kilmacud Crokes to the 2009 All-Ireland club title and also had a stint at Ballyman Kickhams.
His new sideline partner Aidan O’Rourke has accrued considerable coaching experience down the years, while he also managed Louth and last year served as assistant manager to Down boss James McCartan.
