Donegal finished strongest to see off a resurgent Meath side in Ballybofey.

Goals from Patrick McBrearty and Oisin Gallen ensured that Declan Bonner’s men got off to the perfect start.

The Royals remained within touching distance for the majority of the contest as Michael Newman’s penalty goal gave his team hope.

Scores from McBrearty, Michael Murphy and Niall O’Donnell and a well taken goal from Gallen sealed the win.
