DERRY have received s defensive boost with the return to the panel of Paddy Kelly.

The experienced Kevin Lynch’s defender, who last played in the 2021 Christy Ring win over Sligo, didn’t join up with the panel initially this season.

After approaching the management team to throw is lot behind Derry’s promotion charge, he has returned to training and will bolster their squad.

He joins his younger brothers Conor and Sean in the panel.

Derry have beaten Sligo, Mayo and Wicklow so far and meet Donegal in this weekend’s top of the table clash.

The top team in Division 2B will play the winner of the play-off between the second and third placed teams fr the right to gain promotion  to Division 2A next season.
