Baker’s return and other Derry changes

LIAM Bradley is back in charge of Glenullin. He last managed them back in 2017. Since then he has been involved with Ballinascreen.

In last year’s intermediate Championship, Glenullin won two of their three group games. Their one defeat was against Steelstown who beat them by 2-16 to 0-8.

There’s a new management team in Steelstown. Hugh McGrath and Raymond Tracey are taking over. Eamon Gibson was manager for the past four years. McGrath was manager back in 2011.

Gibson couldn’t commit this year which will be frustrating for him as Steelstown had such a good run last year. They won their three group stage games and then reached the final where they met Greenlough. Unfortunately for them they were not able to get the right result.

Kilrea’s management is still the same. Declan Bradley is manager with Conleth Donnelly in as trainer, along with Eamon Quinn and Declan McAlary. Last year they lost their three group games, and were beaten by Glen in the first knockout round

There is no change in Dungiven as former Tyrone star forward Stephen O’Neill remains in place as senior manager.

Last year, Dungiven earned a draw against Claudy in the group stages of the Senior Championship which was their only point. They finished bottom of their group and played the Loup in the first round of the knockout stages. They lost by seven points.

There is a few changes to the Ballymaguigan management. Andrew McCartney has left the managment but Colm Letters and Paul Donnelly remain. Cathal Doyle joins them.

They need a big lift after last year’s championship performance when they lost all three of their group stage games.

Foreglen will have Damien O’Connor over them for a third year in charge. He’s bringing in Declan ‘Honda’ Mullan from Banagher as his selector. He also wants to add a few more new faces to selector roles.

Foreglen tasted Senior Championship football last year, but were beaten in all three of their group games and then had to play Sleacht Néill in the first round of the knockouts. They lost.

Drumsurn’s manager for 2021 will be Sean Brady from Ballymaguigan. He replaces Declan Toner who was there for five years. Drumsurn won two and lost one of their group stages Intermediate Championship games last year.

Faughanvale’s management remains unchanged. John McGee is in charge for the year ahead. They won their three group stage Intermediate Championship games. However, they lost a thrilling semi-final to Steelstown.

Niall Jackman remains in charge of Castledawson. They won two of their three group stages games, and got to the Intermediate semi-final. However, they lost to eventual champions Greenlough.
