Toner takes charge of Limavady

DERRY club Limavady have appointed Declan Toner as their new senior football manager for the 2023 season.

A native of the club, Toner have been involved in underage teams within the club and was a previous manager of Drumsurn.

Toner has coached Derry minors and teams in St Conor’s College.

He takes over from the management team of Peter Murphy and James McToal.

Limavady were beaten by finalists Glenullin the Intermediate Championship quarter-finals.

Their last championship success was their Derry junior title in 2018 before going down to Donegal side Red Hugh’s in the Ulster final.

Toner, now in his third stint as senior boss, has yet to finalise his management team.

Elsewhere. Steelstown are on the lookout for a manager after Hugh McGrath steeped down after two years in charge.

Swatragh are also without a manager after Kevin Madden called time on his tenure after their championship defeat to neighbours Sleacht Néill.
