New chairman elected in Derry following county convention

Stephen Barker has been elected as the new chairman of the Derry county board following the county convention in Owenbeg. 

Barker, a member of the Moneymore club was elected unopposed after the only other nominee, John Keenan did not stand for election.

The former Moneymore goalkeeper succeeds, Brian Smith who completed his five year term.

Former All-Ireland winner, Kieran McKeever was elected as the vice chairman while, Sean Keane took the position of secretary.

Martin Devlin was elected as the county treasurer with Paul Birt assistant treasurer.

The new county PRO is Ciaran McCrory after Conor Nicholl stepped aside due to work commitments.

In other board positions, Bobby Farren is the new coaching and games officer while, Una Ferguson will once again take the role of officer for Irish Language and Culture.

Derry’s delegates to the Ulster Council will be Kieran McKeever and John Keenan while, Danny Scullion will stand in the Ard Comhairle.
