McGurk wore the jersey in the club’s All-Ireland winning season of 1991.
The Erin’s Own club began this season’s title challenge with a 0-11 to 0-8 win over Bellaghy on Sunday night in Owenbeg, with the number 15 jersey hanging in the dressing room.
Collie’s nephew James – who kicked two points in their win – was listed as number 17, but took his place in the starting team.
Lavey are in a group with Dungiven and Kilrea as they bid to get their hands on the John McLaughlin Cup for the first time since 1993.
