Raymond Galligan will be the next manager of Cavan, pending ratification, having been recommended for a three-year term.
He replaces the out-going Mickey Graham who stepped down at the end of the 2023 season.
The Breffni goalkeeper was one of three people interviewed for the role alongside former Cavan forward Jason O’Reilly and Down’s Danny Hughes. Former Clare boss Michael McDermott had been nominated but withdrew prior to the interview process.
Galligan’s backroom team includes Tyrone legend Stevie O’Neill, James Burke, a coach under Graham, and Eamonn Murray, who took Meath to back-to-back All-Ireland ladies titles.
It is expected that Galligan will now retire to focus on the job.
