CROSSERLOUGH were in superb form in their opening round victory over Lavey and it would be a massive shock if they don’t make it two-from-two when they come up against Laragh tonight.
Managed by Tyrone duo Ryan Daly and Stephen Beattie, 2020 champions caught the eye with a resounding win over Lavey, but there’s a long road to travel in this year’s senior championship.
Gowna could only muster a draw against Kingscort but they should get up and running at the second time of asking against Ballinagh, while it’ll be fascinating to see how Mullahoran fare against contenders Ramor off the back of their thoroughly deserved win over Cavan Gaels on their first day out.
Time will tell whether it was a false dawn for Mullahoran, who are managed this year by Longford native Donal Ledwith, and Ramor are still favourites to prevail.
Elsewhere, Cavan Gaels are hoping to bounce back against Ballinagh on Saturday evening while Kingscourt will take on a Killygarry side in confident mood after they claimed victory over Castlerahan last weekend.
There are also a full round of fixtures in the Cavan Intermediate and Junior championships. It’s the penultimate round of the group stages and there are a number of teams who can make certain of their place in the knock-outs a game in advance.
