CASTLERAHAN
Manager:
Glen O’Reilly (manager), Greg McGonigle (trainer), Ronan Coleman and Finnian Coleman (selectors).
Championship programme:
League stage round one:
Castlerahan v Shercock, August 1
Team news:
The back-to-back champions must try and complete the three in-a-row without Cian Mackey, who has transferred to Longford outfit Mullinalaghta. Enda Flanagan is the new captain in the absence of the retired Ronan Flanagan while Jamie Leagy, Brian Ennis and Paul Smith are also away from last year’s championship winning panel. Stephen Cooney will act as vice-captain. O’Reilly, previously with Carrickmacross in Monaghan, was only appointed in February, so it seemed like he would have little time to work with the squad before the start of the league. The recent situation has changed things though and they should be refreshed and ready to chase history. Enda Flanagan is injury free after a disrupted 2019 while Oisin Kiernan will be a real player to watch, especially with his county commitments not kicking in until after the club season.
