In the current issue of Gaelic Life, Steven McDonnell explains what Burren must do to match Kilcoo in Sunday’s Down Senior Championship final (Pairc Esler, 3pm).
McDonnell, who is assistant to the Burren manager Paddy O’Rourke, said that Kilcoo’s effort is what sets them apart.
“Kilcoo are one of the hardest working teams out there, not only in Down but in Ulster,” McDonnell said.
“It comes naturally for them, and instilling that work rate into Burren just hasn’t been as easy, but we demand that from our players and they have answered those demands.
“They must do it for 60, 65 minutes against Kilcoo and if the can do that we’ll have a chance.”
McDonnell also talks about the other strengths that Kilcoo have, and their ambition to win Ulster.
