Bredagh to be without key players

BREDAGH

Management:

Brendan Mason and Martin Durkan (joint-managers), Kevin Muldoon, Fergal Nolan and Simon Francis (selectors).

Championship programme:

Down SFC round one

Bredagh v Castlewellan

Team news:

It’s not the brightest outlook for the Cherryvale outfit as they are set to be without a raft of players for their clash with Castlewellan. A number of former Down players are away. Conor Francis is still in Australia while Owen Costello, so good at centre half-back last year, is in London. The Hughes brothers, Donal and Cormac, are also major doubts for the game. A hamstring injury has all but ruled Cormac out although Donal may yet play some part as he continues to recover from an ankle problem. Fromer Fermanagh defender Tommy McElroy and John McKenna are the joint-captains this year, and they are two players who demand huge respect.
