BOI Dr McKenna Cup swings into action for six sides

The Bank of Ireland Dr McKenna Cup got underway for six of the teams on Sunday.

Derry began life under Rory Gallagher with a trip to Inniskeen to take on Monaghan who are once again managed by Seamus McEneaney.

The Farney Army took the plaudits in this one with a 1-17 to 0-14 victory with the goal coming from Aaron Mulligan on eight minutes.

Conor Turbitt hit the net twice for Armagh as they beat Cavan 2-17 to 1-13.

Liam Kerr was the man on target as Down overcame Fermanagh 1-11 to 0-7.
