Bellaghy and Cross’ prepare for Ulster Minor Decider

Derry champions, Bellaghy and Armagh champions, Crossmaglen will do battle in the final of the St.Paul’s Ulster Club Minor Football Championship.

If the senior championship clashes between the sides of yesteryear are anything to go by, those in attendance at the Belfast venue are in for a treat.

Bellaghy qualified for the final by overcoming St.Eunan’s, Letterkenny on St.Stephen’s Day.

The Derry champions raced into an early lead before being pegged back in an instant classic before showing nerves of steel to kick a late winner.

Crossmaglen qualified for the decider in another classic beating the Down kingpins, Ballyholland 3-9 to 2-8.

Cian, carrying the famous Crossmaglen surname, McConville led the charge like those before him had kicking 2-4 along to book the New Year spot for the Orchard men.

Now, Bellaghy and Crossmaglen will do battle for the prestigious trophy with a battle to the death expected to unfold.
