Ballymacnab trying to keep the feet on the ground

BALLYMACNAB

Management:

Bernie Murray (manager), Paul O’Connor (coach), Ciaran McKinney (goalkeeping coach), Neil Alderdice (S&C coach) and Kevin Beagen (selector).

Championship programme:

Armagh SFC round one
Ballymacnab v Madden, August 8

Team news:

Ballymacnab must put the psychological scars of the last two county finals behind them as they again chase history. They went to Crossmaglen, their Kryptonite in the last deciders, and hit seven goals in last week’s league encounter, so that would have helped but the management are not reading too much into it. Bernie Murray is back in charge and they have the tools to go all the way, especially when the two Grugans (Jack and Rory) get into their stride. Have suffered a few blows though with Sean Lynch and Cormac Gribben picking up long-term injuries just before the season started. Kieran Hughes is also still out. They may be amongst the favourites, but their first round derby clash with Madden is the clichéd banana skin.
