AVAILABLE…James Morgan will be in line for a start against Cavan

KIERAN McGeeney has confirmed that James Morgan will be available for their match with Cavan on May 29, but is unlikely to be with the squad for the entire campaign.

The defender was due to have surgery on a wrist injury, but it has been delayed to the end of June, allowing him to play for Crossmaglen and, now, Armagh until the operation is performed.

“He has a date for the operation at the end of June,” said McGeeney.

“We thought it would be done a lot sooner. He said he may as well play football for Cross’ and he may as well keep playing up until the time.

“We’re delighted to have him back. He’s a good fella to have around the place.

“He’s a funny character and he’s very well got by the whole team.”

Andrew Murnin and Kevin Dyas have been ruled out for the season but Ciaran McKeever is expected to be fit to feature in some capacity against Cavan, even possibly from the start.
