Killeavy set to appoint McNulty

OLD FRIENDS….Former Laois manager Justin McNulty with old Armagh teammate Aidan O’Rourke, who was over Louth

KILLEAVY are set to install 2002 All-Ireland winning defender Justin McNulty as their new manager.

It is understood that last season’s management team, Paul Gallagher and Paddy McGuinness, were hoping for a second season with the side, but the south Armagh club has opted to go in a new direction.

The pair had guided Killeavy to the Intermediate Championship and, recently, the u-21 county final where they lost out to Crossmaglen.

McNulty has managed with a number of teams in the past, most notably Laois who he spent three years with. In that time, the Mullaghbawn native took them to Division One and, also, the All-Ireland quarter-final.

He has also managed in Cavan and Dublin and has acted as a selector for Armagh.

It’s just one of a number of recent high-profile appointments in the orchard county with the latest details in today’s edition.
