ARMAGH attacker Kevin Dyas’ 59th-minute introduction at Croke Park on Saturday garnered a huge ovation from the Orchard support.
His appearance in their Division Three final win over Fermanagh was his first time taking the field competitvely for his county since the 2015 Ulster Championship quarter-final loss to Donegal.
Still, false dawns have accompanied the creative player throughout his career and he’s certainly not going to proclaim that he’s now back and ready for action.
“I have managed to get myself back but I’m still definitely a bit off the pace in terms of being able to play a full game,” he said.
“It’s not as if my injuries have magically disappeared and I’m not feeling any consequence from them. I have to manage it, I get pretty sore and it’s not as if I have a new set of legs stuck onto me.
“It’s still a work in progress but I’ve felt as good as I’ve felt for a long time.”
