St Patrick’s v Sarsfields

(Sunday, Athletic Grounds, 6.45pm)

CULLYHANNA still have a fairly substantial injury list heading into this match, that’s according to manager Mick O’Dowd.

Aidan Nugent, Mickey Murray, Aodhan Conlon and Colm Hoey are all out while the Monaghan man is waiting on a few others.

“We have a few niggling injuries and we are waiting on the physio to give the okay to a couple of guys,” said O’Dowd. “Apart from that, everyone available for the last day should be available for Sunday.”

That last day was a tremendous 2-20 to 1-5 win over Pearse Og with Jason Duffy and Gary McCooey grabbing the goals.

The south Armagh side dominated proceedings with Mal Mackin putting in a good shift at full-forward while the midfield lorded it.

Sarsfields had it much tougher against Forkhill and required an injury-time Kevin McAlinden score to get over the line.

The Highmoss men always seem to struggle against Forkhill though, so it was a case of getting the job done and getting into the next round.

Mark Reynolds, Colin Stevenson and Eamon McGeown grabbed goals in that win, and they have the attack to cause problems. Their defence and midfield may struggle though against a lively St Patrick’s side.

VERDICT: St Patrick’s
