Greg McGonigle has stepped down as manager of the Armagh Ladies team after just one season in charge. McGonigle led the Orchard County to an Ulster title and the last four of the All-Ireland race.
Not only that, but Armagh also got their hands on a historic Division One league title this season, winning the crown for the first time in their history with a victory in Croke Park over Kerry.
It was the Kingdom who ultimately ended their season however and a first half goal was the key in the All-Ireland semi-final with four-points the difference between the teams in the end.
Armagh lost their main attacking threat Aimee Mackin to an ACL injury picked up in the extra time Ulster final victory over Donegal and her absence hindered their All-Ireland ambitions.
McGonigle took over from Shane McCormack at the start of the season and the former Monaghan and Dublin ladies boss also managed Clann Eireann to their first Ulster Club title in 2023.
Joe Feeney and Darnell Parkinson, who were members of McGonigle’s management team this year, have taken hold of the reigns as a joint management ticket and will lead Armagh into the 2025 season.
Ex-Armagh and London footballer Feeney led Armagh Harps to back-to-back ladies championship titles in recent years while Parkinson, who won an Armagh SFC with Pearse Og in 2009, has been involved with numerous clubs.
