Kieran McGeeney has announced his squad for Saturday’s All-Ireland semi-final showdown with Kerry. The Orchard County have named an unchanged line-up from the one that defeated Roscommon two weeks ago.
It’s only a seventh ever championship meeting between Armagh and Kerry, with the last clash coming back in 2006. The Kingdom emerged victorious that day, with McGeeney coming up against Kieran Donaghy.
Jack O’Connor was the Kerry manager at the time as they went on to win the All-Ireland and he is at the helm once again. Donaghy will know O’Connor’s through process, which could be a major help.
Armagh’s match ups could also prove crucial and keeping the Kerry forward line quiet is easier said than done. Barry McCambridge and Joe McElory could pick up David and Paudie Clifford with Aaron McKay starting on Sean O’Shea.
Armagh: Blaine Hughes, Paddy Burns, Aaron McKay, Peter McGrane, Barry McCambridge, Tiernan Kelly, Aidan Forker, Niall Grimley, Ben Crealey, Oisin Conaty, Rian O’Neill, Joe McElory, Rory Grugan, Andrew Murnin, Conor Turbitt.
Subs: Ethan Rafferty, Connaire Mackin, Jason Duffy, Greg McCabe, Aidan Nugent, Oisin O’Neill, Stefan Campbell, Shane McPartlan, Ross McQuillan, Jarly Og Burns, Darragh McMullan.
