Armagh clubs to have county players for three out of 10 league games

ARMAGH have confirmed that clubs will have access to their county contingent for just three of their 10 scheduled league matches.

The Senior Football final will also take place on either September 12 or 13 rather than the anticipated September 20 date after Armagh’s management committee ratified the CCC’s fixture schedule.

Clubs at senior and intermediate level will play three league games then compete in a straight knock-out championship.

After that they will play four more league games to complete one round of fixtures. The eight-team divisions will then split in two with the top four playing for the title/promotion and the bottom four battling against relegation. County players will not be available after the championship.

It is unclear how the junior leagues will proceed seeing as they have a bigger number of competing teams but county players will be available for the first four fixtures.

The championship draw will take place on Thursday, July 9.

Armagh have also confirmed that participation is optional, and any team that does not enter the league or championship will be exempt from relegation.
