Former Armagh minor boss takes charge of Derrynoose

By Shaun Casey

PAUL Doyle will take charge of Derrynoose for the 2022 season as he replaces outgoing boss Brian Hamilton.

Hamilton, who held his home clubs hotseat for four years, led Derrynoose to the Junior Championship final for the first time in 15 years back in 2019.

Collegeland spoiled the party that day, but Derrynoose remain one of the big hitters in the Junior Championship.

Doyle won the Junior Championship with Keady in 2018 and recently stepped down from that job, with former player Eugene McDonnell taking over.

That experience with a dual club will no doubt help Doyle as the Derrynoose squad includes plenty of hurlers as well.

Doyle was in charge of the Armagh minors the last time they reached the Ulster final back in 2014.

He will bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to the role as Derrynoose once again begin their quest for the Sean Quinn Cup.
