Coleman set for new coaching role in the Orchard County

By Shaun Casey

2021 Armagh Senior Championship winning manager Tommy Coleman has been announced as the new Killeavy manager.

Coleman guided his native Clann Eireann to their first championship crown since 1963, defeating Crossmaglen in a dramatic final.

Coleman takes over from Wayne Kierans, who stepped down following a one-year stint in charge. The Louth native brought Killeavy to the championship semi-final but lost out to Granemore.

Killeavy finished second in Division 1A last year, losing a final-day title decider to eventual winners Armagh Harps. Coleman took a year out of management last season, but the experienced coach is back on the sidelines this year.

He’ll be joined by James Byrne, who was his right-hand man during Clann Eireann’s championship winning season, and Shane Bannon, a member of the Killeavy management team from last year.
