PASCAL Canavan has taken over as manager of Armagh Harps, who won the Division 1A league this season and replaces Benny O’Kane.
The Harps were crowned league champions, for the first time since 1991, but had an underwhelming championship campaign.
For the second year in a row, they were ousted by Maghery, with three-points the difference in the end.
Canavan takes charge having recently stepped down as Truagh manager. The former Tyrone footballer guided the Monaghan club to the county final for the first time in 20 years back in 2021 but lost out to Scotstown.
He also took his home club Errigal Ciaran to two Tyrone deciders, in 2017 and 2019, but suffered defeats to Omagh and Trillick respectively.
This won’t be Canavan’s first venture into Armagh football, however. He managed Ballymacnab during the 2015 season.
He directed the ‘Nab to the Armagh championship semi-final but lost out to the Harps 2-16 to 2-10.
