O’Mullan takes over Orchard County Camogs

PJ O’Mullan has taken over the reigns of the Armagh Camogie team for the upcoming season. The Orchard County will compete in Division Two of the league and once again be aiming for a Premier Junior All-Ireland Championship.

O’Mullan takes over from Armagh native Sean Hughes, who spent two seasons in charge. The Antrim native led Derry for the previous two seasons but stepped down from the role in September.

During that time, the Oak Leaf County were crowned All-Ireland Intermediate champions in 2023 and reached the Division 2A league final this season but lost out to Westmeath on the day by four-points.

After a number of previously failed attempts and a couple of close shaves, Armagh finally achieved promotion from Division 3A in 2024, beating Laois in a dramatic finale by the minimum of margins.

Armagh then went on the charge for a championship title, which they last won in 2020, but they just came up short in the semi-final, losing out to eventual winners Tipperary by just one-point.
