In the opening weekend of the Dr McKenna Cup, Armagh have inflicted a 25 point defeat on St.Mary’s while Lee Brennan secured a draw for Jordanstown at Fermanagh.

Lee Brennan struck nine points as a fourteen man Jordanstown side secured a draw in Derrygonnelly against Fermanagh.
Darragh McGurn led the Ernesiders charge in the first half as Rory Gallagher’s men held a three point lead at the break on a scoreline of 0-8 to 0-5.
The men in green would only hit 1-1 in the second half as Conall Jones flicked Eoin Donnelly’s ball into the net minutes after the restart.
McGurn from a free secured what would prove to be his sides final score of the game to give them a four point advantage.
Tyrone’s Lee Brennan would then hit the final four points of the contest to seal a share of the spoils for the students.
Armagh 6-17 St.Mary’s 1-7
Kieran McGeaney’s men showed a real ruthless streak as they hammered Gavin McGilly’s St.Mary’s team in the opening round of the Dr McKenna Cup.
The Orchard County led by twenty four points at the break on a scoreline of 5-12 to 0-3 after hitting the net five times in the opening half an hour.
Jack Grugan hit the first major after only five minutes before Jason Duffy, Stefan Campbell and Ryan McShane netted before Grugan grabbed a second.
With the game nearing its conclusion, Connaire Mackin hit a sixth goal while Ryan Coleman got a consolation for the Ranch in injury time.
