CAMLOUGH club Shane O’Neill’s will finish the interview process for their new manager this evening despite rumours that they had filled the position at the weekend.
John Rafferty had been linked to the role, but the club were meeting candidates last night and will do so again tonight, so any news of an appointment is premature.
With the likes of Greg McCabe and the Mackin brothers providing the backbone for the side, the Shane’s should be amongst the favourites for the Intermediate crown in 2021.
Their neighbours Carrickcruppen will hope to have something to say about that, and they did confirm their new management team at the weekend.
Barry Flynn and Paul Cunningham will take on the side having worked with the club’s underage teams in recent years. They guided the side to an Armagh U-21 B title in 2019.
‘Cruppen are a young side on the rise, and they will be hoping that the 2020 season is finished out when the action resumes as they looked nailed-on to move from Intermediate B to Intermediate A in the league.
Fellow intermediate club Clonmore have appointed former Derry footballer Joe O’Kane as their new manager.
The Loup native, who has links to the club, won a Sigerson Cup with Queen’s in 2007.
