Cargin and Castlerahan claim titles in Antrim and Cavan

Cargin have beaten local rivals Creggan in a low scoring Antrim decider to claim the title in Ahoghill.

After a dour first half of football the team’s were tied, 0-2 apiece before Michael McCann kicked a late winner as Cargin claimed their third county title in four years.

Cavan Senior Football Championship Final 2018

Castlerahan 2-11 

Crosserlough 1-13

Castlerahan came from six behind with fifteen to play to claim the Cavan title after coming out the wrong end of the last three deciders.

Crosserlough led 0-7 to 0-6 at the break before a James Smith goal in the 45th minute of the game put his side six in front.

Sixty seconds later, Oisin O’Connell finished a rebound from a penalty before Sean Brady got Castlerahan’s second major.

Cian Mackey edged the champions elect with a score with five minutes of injury remaining as Castlerahan held on to claim the title.
