Team news:

Cushendall have got three important players back on the squad, Sean McAfee, Christy McNaughton and Conor Carson. Those players will really boost the Ruairi Ogs chances of success this season. Manager Eamon Gillen did say that the short sharp start to the season has brought a wave of injuries to the team that they are trying to get a handle on.

“I doubt if there’s been a hurling season where your first game is a championship game without playing a league game.”

The suggestion is that anything could happen and there could be some upsets this year. But Cushendall do have a strong squad of experienced players.
