Steven Poacher’s season as Carlow assistant manager came to an end last weekend, when the county was knocked out of the championship by Monaghan.
Poacher took time in his column to explain the experience of getting involved with Turlough O’Brien’s team, and he said how much he enjoyed it.
He also highlighted an important attribute about good management teams.
“Relationships in any management team are critical. I’ve worked before in manufactured management teams and they simply don’t work.
“There has to be chemistry and players will know when a management team has cohesion. They sense it.
“Lucky for Carlow all the backroom team are wonderful people who all love Carlow.”
