In his column in this week’s Gaelic Life, Pauric Grimes highlights five types of trainer to avoid.
He says :
“Avoid those who are more interested in themselves than you. They’ll tell you about every facet of their day, their training and their diet, but they’ll call you the wrong name at least once per session,
“They’ll push what they are doing onto you, instead of working out what would work best for you. For example, they will say they are doing intermittent fasting and it is helping them so they say you should do it too. They are doing Olympic lifting and are enjoying it, so you are now doing it as well. So your training and dietary guidance loosely falls in line with what they are doing at the time but they have taken zero consideration of your training goals, fat loss goals or lifestyle.”
