Sports massages are a good way to deal with aches and pains

Pauric Grimes has some tips for those who are suffering from aches and pains.

He says that players must thing about how they are resting and stretching if they are to deal with these problems.

“For the men and women with aches and pains, my advice to you is have a recovery protocol in place that helps combat whatever part of your body that is causing you discomfort.

“Have a stretch routine which you can do every day, be it one area per day for five/ten minutes every morning when you wake up, or in the evening before you go to bed. Or a longer routine which will do a more thorough job of the entire body two or three times a week.

“Make a sports massage a monthly occurrence and not just a five minute rub on the physiotherapy table before you take to the field at the weekend.

“Contine the work that the masseur does with a foam roller or the sliotar before you start your stretching sequence.”
