In this week’s issue of Gaelic Life, Pauric Grimes looks at how players should react to defeat.
“How you bounce back from defeat may very well define your career just as much, if not more, than your victories.
“Defeat can be physical, thinking that an injury means you’re finished. But you’re not.
“Defeat can be personal, thinking that if you can’t make the team then you never will. But you can.
“Defeat can hit you as a team. If you are out of the championship after the first round, then you question is it worth it? It is.
“Every defeat is a milestone that you’ll look back on having learned something that has helped you to succeed.”
He makes six points about how you should react in terms of your attitude and training.
