In his column in this week’s Gaelic Life, Pauric Grimes seeks to dispel a few commonly-held myths about training.
One in particular pertains to getting a six pack.
“You want a six pack? You need to hit your abs at least 30 minutes each day; sit ups morning, noon and night. Wrong.
“You’ve got a six pack already, there’s just a layer of fat over it.
“Sure you can work your abdominal muscles and make them more pronounced, but unless you reduce your body fat to the low teens then you’ll never get the chance to see them.”
He also goes to talk about protein shakes, losing fat, and pain when training.
