GAELIC Life columnist Kevin Cassidy has spoken about the difficulties in letting go of your playing career – and explains why he returned to the scene of the battle.
Cassidy and his Gaoth Dobhair teammates will try and reach the Donegal final at the expense of Naomh Conaill this weekend, and Cassidy has explained why he will be on the inside of the wire rather than outside it.
“As the game was in the melting point I had the urge to jump the fence and put my shoulder to the wheel to help the boys get over the line, at that point just like in the movie the perfect storm I realised that this monster wasn’t going to let me out and it wasn’t long before I was back on the training pitch with the boys getting ready for the rest of the championship.”
