In his column in this week’s Gaelic Life, Kevin Cassidy points out that both Cavan and Donegal are under serious pressure to win this weekend, but the Breffni County need it more than Donegal.
“There is a lot of pressure on both camps heading into this opener for very different reasons.
“Cavan have underachieved at senior level and if they fail to make an impact soon then they are in real danger of slipping into oblivion for another few years.
“Good teams come in cycles and you must make the most out of that time.
“Having won a number of underage titles recently, I don’t think Cavan have gotten enough out of those teams.”
Cassidy goes on to explain why Donegal desperately need a good championship run.
