John Morrison says there are practices that can be done in trainng that can promote winning attitudes

John Morrison addresses the difference between being good and being great in his column in this week.

He uses examples of teams like Dublin, Barcelona and New Zealand of teams that gradually came to dominate their sport.

John believes that there are ten approaches to training that teams must adopt in order to achieve that dominance.

One of those is using training sessions to teach players how to win.

John says: “Winners make/find a way to win.

“This is the difference between winning and losing. Thus, training must be creative and meticulous in every way. Winners plan to win not just to compete.

“Coaches should ask themselves questions like: ‘What did we do in training today to give us a winning advantage?’, or ‘Was my training challenging and did it enable problem solving for players?’, or ‘Did I help them make effective decisions?’.

“Teams practice winning by creating winning practices.”
