John Morrison has provided coaches with a plan to build up players’ confidence.
He says that after a defeat, players’ confidence will be low and it is up to a coach to lift them back up.
“Building players’ confidence is a process of diverting attention away from outcomes and towards developing a sense of inner self, of focusing on the present and persnoal abilities and readiness. Put plain and simple, confidence is not about whether you are a better team or player than your opponent; it’s about who puts it all on the line, who has the courage to risk,to suffer and to feel fear.”
Morrison gives another six tips on how to build confidence in this week’s Gaelic Life.
