In the aftermath of the All-Ireland final, John Morrison has reminded us that even in defeat teams must learn from their mistakes.
In his column in this week’s Gaelic Life, he gives a number of important quotes which players should learn from, and some a pertinent to Mayo who were edged out by Dublin in last weekend’s All-Ireland final.
“You might lose the game, don’t lose the lesson. Win/learn.
“The ability to handle pressure depends on self confidence. In games, confidence comes from kowing that preparation has been absolutely thorough. All that could be done was done.
“If players doubt their preparation, they will doubt their ability to deliver.
“The seeds of anxiety are sown in the cracks of doubt that are left in their confidence.
“Clear your head.”
