The underdogs have been winning a lot recently. In the English Premiership, Leicester won the title. At the Euros, Portugal triumphed against a fancied France team, while in the GAA, Tipperary shocked everyone by getting as far as the All-Ireland SFC semi-finals.

John Morrison answers that very question in his column in this week’s Gaelic Life by highlighting the attributes of teams that can upset the odds.

“Teams who succeed never mention their weaknesses – player or team – to each other.

“Instead they focus on team/player strengths.

“This encourages the betterment of team morale, experience, attitude and development.”
