John Morrison says that players who don’t play with their heart are egotisitical.
In his column in this week’s Gaelic Life he explains why the best players play with passion and courage, and think less about themselves and more about the team.
“Players playing with their head and not their heart are egotistical and overly concerned with outcomes and winning.
“Courageous coaches and teams/playerse have a deep desire to win.
“If they don’t win, they never measure their self-worth by outcome.
“Coaches help cultivate courage by giving players freedom to fail or make mistakes.
“Thus all learn that mistakes or setbacks are vital parts of improvement process. If players don’t have freedom to fail, they’ll take no risks and have not improvement.”
