TOP SEASON…John Martin has included the likes of Westmeath’s Tommy Doyle is his alternate All Stars

GAELIC Life hurling columnist John Martin has picked an All Star side from the counties that didn’t reach the last four of the All-Ireland series.

Picking his 15 in today’s edition, it includes players from the likes of Westmeath and Laois.

“The Sunday Game Team of the ‘Year’ is usually a reliable enough yardstick when it comes to who’s getting the gongs but, as always, the process virtually excludes any hurler who hurled from January to August as opposed to January to September.”
